What are weldolets?
Weldolets are the most common of all branch connections, and are welded onto the outlet pipe. The ends are bevelled to facilitate this process, and therefore the weldolet is considered a butt-weld fitting. Weldolet’s are designed to minimize stress concentrations and provide integral reinforcement.
A pipe weldolet makes a 90° branch connection and – comes in full size or reducing for a straight piece of pipe. A weldolet is designated by the run length by the branch length. For example a 1-inch weldolet on a 1-inch pipe would be a 1×1 Weldolet. A weldolet is designed to minimize stress concentrations and provide integral reinforcement without the need for reinforcing the weld.
